Many photographers pan mirror lenses, I’ve always been attracted to them. Here I played around with my 500mm f8. I’m glad I own this lens. I dream of playing with a 1000mm f11 some day.
I’ve been working to make a nice “out” shot at 2nd base. I’m looking for an image with the ball and a smoking slide. I’d like something that uses more of the frame than this.
We’ve not had our normal June gloom overcast days this year. Instead the boys are playing in hard light and temps in the high 90s F. These are not the best conditions for making photographs or playing baseball. I’m taking the opportunity to practice and find some new angles.
I couldn’t wait to try my secret weapon so Tom and I went to watch the two other All Star teams play. It worked! Shooting through the fence isn’t ideal, but I’ve learned how to handle it. I don’t like the evil fence, but I do not fear it either. I do appreciate the different point of view I can get off the field.
